My name is Mark Maddock and I am a follower of Jesus. I am also the great great grandson of Bishop J.C Ryle, who called the UK back to holiness in the late 1800’s. I share many of my beliefs with him.
I’m married to Ruth and have four grown up children and two grandchildren. For my day job I teach children with special needs.
My passion is to see the Kingdom of God expressed on the earth, be it through my personal life, family or daily work.
Coming from this passion has been a growing realisation of the importance of Britain, this beautiful island, in the spreading of God’s kingdom. Britain has been active in this area in the past but has largely fallen away from God since the 1950s.
Concerning God’s kingdom, I have prayed about and seen heavenly ways of doing things. Having studied the scriptures, history books, ancient legends (and the Celtic church) I’ve been listening to Jesus about what he wants to do in Britain today. I’ve also visited museums, cathedrals, ruined abbeys and undertaken prayer walks around England, Wales, Scotland and the island of Ireland. I sense we can benefit today by learning from those who have lived and prayed in these islands in the past.
I sense there is great value in connecting some of the truths known by the first believers in Jesus in Britain with us today. We are one body of Christ spanning across twenty centuries; things that were birthed a long time ago can be fulfilled in this generation.
This website has been created as a way to document some of my discoveries and describes a growing God-given vision for a project based in Somerset, England. This I believe will lead to a unique and powerful expression of God’s kingdom which has the potential to bless this and other nations.
